A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an outdated address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam email messages, but this problem can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound email messages to a 3rd-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
If you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you have a website hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a few features, but it’s amazingly intuitive, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes just one click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have created will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you’ll simply need to click on the "Catch-all" button for the respective email address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as simple and requires yet another mouse click on the exact same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be configured with a few clicks if you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting service with our company. The hosting account will be administered via our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up email addresses using any domain name registered there. To enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you will have to click on the icon with the exact same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Disabling this functionality can be done in the exact same manner and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all feature has already been activated for a specific domain, you’ll receive a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never change or disable anything automatically.
